Under the Sea - Scrapping Cottage

Good Morning Scrapping Cottage Fans!

I hope you are having a fantastic summer.  I live in the Hilton Head area so we have a good number of tourist coming to visit.  And the biggest draw is the beautiful Atlantic Ocean!  So I thought I would do an ocean themed card inspired by our beautiful sea!

Here are the design steps:

1.  Use inks on watercolor paper direct to paper then use water and a stipple brush to move the ink around on the paper
2.  Distress the edges of the paper and use distress ink on the edges
3.  Use a stencil and translucent embossing paste to create the bubbles
4.  Glue Prills to the bottom of the card to create the sand
 5.  Use Kraft card stock and cut out the Cottage Cutz Sand Dollar and Sea Horse
 6.  Ink the Sand Dollar and Sea Horse then splatter with a dark brown ink

7.  Cut seaweed using the Under the Sea die and ink the seaweed.  Attach a piece of cheese cloth that has been lightly inked to the center of the card. Then attach all of the dies.  Last splatter the entire card with dark brown ink

I hope you take a walk outside and let nature inspire you!

Blessings

Sweet Thanks - Pink and Main

Good Morning Pink and Main Friends

I just love the new set called Aloha Pinapple.  It is super fun to work with and can be used for a variety of different occasions. I am using it as a thank you card in my example.

Design Steps

  1. Use an A2 kraft card stock base.  Cut a slightly smaller piece of olive green card stock and glue it to the card base.
  2. Cut a piece of confetti card stock 4 x 5 1/4 and stamp sweet thanks in black ink as shown then glue to the olive green card stock
  3. Using a stamp positioner stamp the pinapples.  Use a mustard yellow first for the solid base then stamp over it with a rusty brown.  Lastly position the leaves over the pineapple and stamp in an olive green
  4. Use the coordinating die set to cut out the 3 pineapples
  5. Glue the two side pinapples flat then pop up the center pineapple add the sequins and your card is finished

This card was so much fun and I think it makes a great summery thank you! Give it a try!!

Peaceful Night - Scrapping Cottage

Good Morning Scrapping Cottage Friends

I must say I am not much of a camper because I am so afraid of creepy crawly critters! But I do love the beauty of God's Creations!  There are so many wonderful camping grounds maybe I will get brave enought to give it a try!

Design Steps:

1.  I started by cutting out all of the pieces using the Cottage Cutz Campground die. The card stock colors I used are green, dark green, kraft, yellow, orange, dark brown, and rust.

 2.  I then inked the pieces to give dimension and interest.  The inks are by Tim Holtz.
 3.  Cut out a free hand hill and ink.  Then cut out the Expression Plus Word Journey both cuts on Kraft card stock.  Last cut out grass on dark green card stock using the Cottage Cutz Spring Grass die
 4.  Use an A2 Kraft card base and a piece of designer paper for the background glue the DP to the card
 5. Glue the hill down, the grass, the trees, journey, moon, stars, and fire in that order

6. Last glue down the tent and your card is complete!

I just love how this card turned out! It sure looks like a cozy camp site! Hope you give these fun dies a try they are perfect for cards or scrapbooking!

Xyron and Pink and Main!

Good Morning!

The Pink and Main Design Team is getting together with Xryon all this week!  Pink and Main will be giving away a $25 store credit to pinkandmain.com as well as a Xyron prize pack! We will be choosing from all the comments left on all of the team's blog posts on their blogs throughout the week, so the more you post, the more chance you have to win!
Also Xyron will be giving away a prize! Make sure to leave us some love! After you take a look at my project pop over to the Xyron Facebook Page for some fun inspiration!

I decided to make a Kid's summer activity board!  I will share how I made it but first I will let you know how it works.  There are a number of activities on the board plus some stickers.  Every time the child completes one of the activities they get to pick a sticker and place it on that activity to show it has been completed. Hopefully this will help when you start to hear I am bored!!!
Start with a piece of 12 x 12 cardboard, 12 x 12 pink designer paper and 15 purple squares cut 2 7/8 x 2 7/8
Using your Xyron Create a Sticker machine run through all the purple square and set aside
Next cut out the child's name using a Cricut or die cuts.  Run the letters throught the Xyron Create a Sticker Machine and set aside
Using your computer type activities board's heading print the heading then attach the letters for the child's name.  Glue the heading to a 5 x 11 piece of purple cards stock
Attach the heading to the top of the 12 x 12 piece of card board as shown below
Adhere the pink designer paper to the card board
Next attach the purple squares by peeling away the Xyron backing and stick to the board
Go to your computer and print off some activities that might interest your child.  Cut the activities out measuring 2 x 2 1/2.  Run them through the Xryon Create a Sticker machine and then stick to the purple squares
Using Pink and Main stamps create your stickers color with copic markers or any markers you prefer
Run the stickers through the 1.5 inch Xyron Sticker Maker
When the stickers are complete place them in a small baggie and attach it to the activity board for easy access!

I hope you will give this fun project a try!  You can even have the kids help you pick out activities.  There are a lot of activity sheets on Google Images!
