Ho Ho Ho

 Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

Today is Throw Back Tuesday so I am taking advantage of this fun day by getting a head start on my Christmas cards!!  I am using a super cute die from the 2019 Christmas Release Part 2.  It is called Ho Ho Friends.  I decided to make two versions one horizontally and one vertically.  Not sure which I like better maybe you can help me decide!!

For the vertical card I used a green slimline base and for the horizontal card I used a white slimline base.  For both versions I used the Hills Slimline die for the snow which is cut out of glitter paper.  For the top card after I glued the hills to a piece of white card stock (only glue down the very bottom of the hills so I could tuck in the Ho Ho Ho). I ran it through my die cutting machine using the Scallop Stitched Rectangle Slimline. For the bottom I just glued the layers directly to the card base and added some DP for sky.

After I got the base done I cut out 2 of each of the reindeer, penguin and Santa shaded them with inks and glued them together.  I also cut out 6 of the holly and lettering using the Ho Ho Friends die
I added the holly to the letter H and tucked them into the snow.  Next I added the characters to the letter O and tucked them into the snow.  The last step is to add glossy accents to the holly berries, penguin beck and reindeer nose stamp the sentiment and glue to card and it is complete

Adventure Awaits

 Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

I have a fun and unique teacher's card for you today.  My niece just finished up her school year, as a teacher, so I thought I would make her a really different end of the year card.  She has a Jeep and loves to go on trips with her family.  So I made her this card but really I think it could be for any teacher getting ready for their summer vacation!  The inside will say enjoy your summer!

Design Steps:

1.  Cut the pieces out using the Safari Cruiser w/Banner die plus green, black, dark brown, grey, and tan card stock
2.  Use a variety of inks and a small applicator to shade the pieces.  When shading is complete assemble the Jeep with a fine tip glue
3.  Using the Safari Phrase die cut out the words twice on dark brown card stock.  Glue them together
4.  Use an Slimline kraft card base and ink the edges.  Use a piece of sunset DP cut slightly smaller then the base, use the Hills Slimline die to create the road.  Spray the road with a black ink to create some texture
5.  Glue the sunset DP to the card base, add the road, glue down the phrase and then the Jeep and your card is complete

Love My Cat

 Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

As I was telling you a couple of Thursdays ago I have a lot of spring and summer birthdays.  My sister and I both have July birthdays.  She is such an animal lover.  She lives in a very rural area so she is constantly feeding any little critter that comes in her yard especially during the cold winter days.  She also has a way of picking up stray or ferral cats.  She has quite a family of both indoor and outdoor cats and she dearly loves them all! So the card I am making today is for her birthday.

Design Steps:
1.  Use a slimline kraft card base, use your Nested Rectangle Slimline dies to create your red layer,  then cut a piece of plaid DP  5 2/4 x 3 1/8 and a piece of cat name DP 3 1/8 x 3.  Cut out your cat using the Cat w/a Spring Bird
2.  Shade your cat using a brown ink and small applicator then assemble it with a fine tip glue.  Ink in the eyes with a Sukura Black Glaze pen and then dot it with Sukura White Gelly Roll pen
3.  Glue the two different DP to the red card stock as shown.  Add a knotted ribbon where the two DP meet and glue to the kraft card base
4.  Using your Pierced Oval 4th from the largest cut out a dark brown oval.  Glue the oval to the card as shown.  Next place pop dots to the back of the cat and pop it to the center of the oval
5.  Using the Love My Dog, Love My Cat die cut out 3 Love My in dark brown and glue them together,  cut out 3 red and dark brown hearts with paws and place pop dots on the back of them
6.  Glue the Love My to the top of the card and add the little paw hearts as shown and your card is complete

Relaxing Father's Day

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

Just like Mother's Day snuck up on us so will Father's Day!  I am getting a little head start with this fun little gnome just relaxing in his hammock perfect for a Father's Day card!

Design Steps:
1.  Start with a white slimline base use a cloud stencil and blue ink to create the sky
2.  Using the Grass Slimline die cut out all three designs in green card stock
3.  Glue the grass to the card base starting at the bottom only putting glue at the very bottom of the grass.  Next slip in the next layer of grass again only putting glue on the bottom of the grass.  Lastly slip the third layer of grass behind the second layer again only putting glue on the bottom of the grass.  You will add glue to the layers after you slip in the little gnome and the letters
4.  Using the Gnome Sleeping in Hammock die cut out all of the pieces in navy, brown, orange, green, kraft, white, tan and orange polka dot DP.  Shade the pieces using a variety of inks and a small applicator

5.  Using the Stitched Alphabet die cut out the work relax in white and orange polka dot DP.  Glue the DP to the white letters and then ink the edges with orange ink.  Assemble the gnome and slip him in the grass as shown.  Next slip in the letters as shown

6.  The last step is to cut out 5 orange flowers using the Gnome Sleeping in a Hammock die and gluing them to the card front as shown.  I added some little orange sequin flowers on top of the cardstock flowers for a little dimension and shine

Birthday Garden

 Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

I am using one of our new slimline dies today and a variety of dies from our Springtime Release.  I have a number of birthdays coming up in the spring and summer months so I am getting a head start.

Design Steps:

1.  Begin by using a blue slimline card base and set aside.  Use the second from the largest Slimline Stitched Rectangle die and cut out 2 (one for the inside) using white card stock.  On the white rectangle for the front of the card use a blue ink and blender brush add some sky in the three spots as shown above
2.  Use the Victorian Fence die and cut out 3 pieces of fence on kraft card stock.  Using the Spring Grass die cut out 3 pieces of grass on green card stock.  Trim down the grass and fence then glue the grass to the bottom front of the fence.  Glue the fence bottom only to the card front in the area where you inked.  The reason you only glue down the bottom is so you can tuck in the flowers behind the fence
3.  Use the Spring Flower Pot, Bunny Gnome 1, Cat w/Spring Bird, Spring Bloom Cottage, Bird w/ Bluebells, Mouse w/Flower Cart for all of your garden pieces.  I used 2 shades of green, purple, yellow, pink, tan, gray, black and vellum

4.  Assemble your flowers, watering can, birds, and bees.  Glue the flowers behind the fence as shown.  After your flowers are tucked in glue the top part of the fence down.  Pop up the watering can, bunny and bird as shown.  Glue the bees in place as shown,  add little pearls to the inside of your flower then stamp and add your sentiment. Your card is complete

I got a lot of use out of the Spring Release collection with different pieces from a variety of dies.  And I just love how it turned out.
