Sending Hugs

Hello Crafty Friends

Our new release is called Spring Time!  There are 22 designs and it is everything from Bunnies to Gnomes!!  It is on sale right now in the store.  So head on over and check out this fantastic collection.  You will not be disappointed in fact you will want every single die!

For today's card I am using Cat in Spring Window.  This card is purrr-fect for sending paper hugs!

Design Steps:

1.  Using the Cat in Spring Window die cut out the pieces in pink DP (Curtain), pink, purple, light purple, yellow, green, and gray, light pink for behind the window (I also ran it through a striped embossing folder and lightly sponged it with TH ink.  Assemble the pieces using a fine tip glue
2.  Using a TH brick stencil and light pink ink stencil in the background on a piece of white 4 x 5 1/4.  The base is an A2 white piece of card stock
3.  Round the corners of your front panel and the corners of your card base.  Ink around the edges of the panel.  Pop up the window, shutters and the window flower box onto the brick background

4.  Add a pink ribbon around the panel tied in a square knot.  Glue the panel to the front of the white card base.  At the least minute I decided to add a little grass to the bottom of the card.  For the grass I used the Spring Grass die and green card stock

New Release!

Hello Friends

It is so exciting to share with you a die from the NEW RELEASE!  The die is called Spring Shower Buddies.  And I decided to use this die for a card of encouragement with a little perk inside!

For this card base I used a piece of white card stock 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.  And then added some cute DP on top of that.     On top of the base you are going to add a piece of white card stock 9 3/4 x 4 1/4 scored on the long side at 3 1/4 x 6 1/2.  The fold is an accordion fold.  I then added more DB and my cute little animals cut with the Spring Shower Buddies die

On the middle panel I made a little pocket for the surprise gift card.  I stamped the sentiment on the far right panel and added another little umbrella that I got from the Rainy Day Duck die

These new CottageCutz Products are coming soon!  Make sure to check out the store for this adorable new release!

Special Hello

 Hi Scrapping Cottage Friends

I am using our fantastic Safari Release today to create a cheery hello for my friends in Ohio who are really stuck in their homes because of a hugh snow storm.  I used the Safari Adventure Gang for all of these fun little animals!  The dies in this collection can be used for so many different projects!

Design Steps:
1.  I am using a slim line card so the measurements are 8 1/2 x 7 scoring along the 7 in side at 3 1/2.  Also cut a piece of white card stock 3 1/4 x 8 1/4.  Use the Stitched Wide Circle Frame dies the smallest one and cut out 3 white frames.
2.  Center and pop up the frames to the piece of white card stock.  Cut out the animals using the Safari Adventure Gang and rust, brown, light yellow, gray, black and white card stock.  Shade and assemble the animals.  I used a black gel pen for the eyes, nose and antlers.  Pop up the animals in the frames then glue the white panel to the card front
3.  Using the Stitched Alphabet die cut out the word hello twice.  Glue the letters together and then pop to the card as shown below
4.  Cut out some leaves using two different shades of green.  The die I used for the leaves is the same the Safari Adventure Gang.  It has a great variety of leaves.  Stick the leaves behind the animals and your card is complete

Love Train

Hi To All My Crafty Friends!

I don't know if you all are old enough to remember the song Love Train By the O'Jays.  It was an R&B hit back in 1972!  Now I am really dating myself! Anyway it is now playing in my head and that was the inpiration for this fun Valentine card.

Design Steps:

1.  Using the Circus Train die cut out the pieces on silver, white and black card stock. The little window and headlight I cut in white then colored with an C1 copic marker.  Next use the Be My Valentine Puppy die and cut out the pink and red hearts several times.  Turn the cage car over and glue down the hearts, add hearts to the wheels and car tops as shown
2.  For the base use a white A2 card, heart DP 4 x 5 1/4 and cut a white retangle using the second from the largest Stitched Scallop Rectangle die
3.  Glue the heart paper to the white card base then center and glue down the rectangle
4.  Pop up the train using dimensional dots or tape
5.  Add the sentiment layered on red card stock and finally add the sequins

6.  I decided to decorate the inside with some leftover paper and a little pink heart and your card is complete

Special Delivery

 Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

I know slimline cards are all of the rage right now so I thought I would make one for Valentine's Day.  The Circus dies plus a few of our older dies made such a cute card.  I am not sure I can give it away!  Hee Hee

Design Steps:

1.  Using a variety of card stock and these two dies: Love Letters Pedaling Puppy & Circus Train (for the little basket) cut out your pieces.  Shade them with several different inks and then glue them together with a fine tip glue
2.  Using the Sweetheart Dollies die and white card stock cut out one large circle and two of the second in size. Make your slimline card which is on white card stock also cut a piece 8 1/2 x 7 and then on the 7 inch side score at 3 1/2.  Cut a piece of hot pink card stock 3 1/4 x 8 1/4 and a piece of DP 6 1/2 x 3 1/8
4.  Glue the hot pink to the card front, glue the DP to the middle of the hot pink and the center your circles as shown above
5.  Use pop dots on the back of the little puppy and place in center circle.  Glue down flat the mail box and the little bird.  Stamp your sentiment below the bird and your card is complete
