Day at the Beach

 Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

I have another fun beach themed card for you.  Who doesn't love the beach right!  The only part of the beach that bugs me is sand everywhere!! Even in places you never dreamed of.  But the sound of the ocean, the cool water,  and the warm breezes really out number the sand complaint! Anyway I am using the Sandcastle die today and I hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it!

Design Steps:
1.  Use the Sandcastle die and cut the pieces out of a Sand DP, Dark Brown Card Stock, Silver and white.  Use TH's inks to shade the pieces
2.  Color the bucket and flag red, the star fish yellow and shade the shells.  Glue together with a fine tip glue
3.  Use a piece of Sand DP and a piece of Sky DP.  Cut the hill in the sand and then lay the sand on top of the sky and cut with the Double Stitched Rectangle die second from the largest
4.  Glue the sand to the bottom of the Sky DP
5.  Cut a piece of white textured card stock 4 x 5 1/4.  Then glue the beach rectangle to the center of the white textured card stock.  Stamp the sentiment in black as shown
6.  Using dimensional dots pop the castle to the sand as shown.  Your card is complete

Design Steps
1.  Using the Sloth die cut out the pieces using 2 different shades greens, 2 different shades of purple, yellow, black and 2 different shades of brown
2.  Using the largest Pierced Circle die cut out a white circle.  Assemble the sloth and flowers using a fine tip glue.

Also cut out of the purple card stock 2 Thinking of You with the Expressions die

Surf Shack

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends!

And I am using the most adorable die in this new collection!  It is called Surf Shack and I have never had more fun making a card as I did with this new die!!  I just love how it turned out!

Just a few tips on how to make this card.  First I used an A2 white card base and a piece of DP for the background.  I cut all of the pieces using the Surf Shack die and white card stock.  Using my Copics I colored all of the pieces and then assembled the pieces using a fine tip glue.

Once the pieces were glued together I popped the shack up and then glued down the palm tree.  I also popped up the surf board using a slightly thinner dimensional.  Lastly stamp your sentiment in the lower right hand corner.  I used VersaFine black ink to stamp the sentiment.

Surfing USA

Good Morning Scrapping Cottage Friends

I lived in California for over 30 years so this little surfing die reminded me of those days.  I taught in Laguna Beach and had a view of the ocean everyday! The drive along PCH was gorgeous.  Always filled with surfers!!

The die I am using today is reminiscent of those days!!

Design Steps:
1.  Cut out all the pieces of the SUV using the Surfboard SUV.  I used a variety of colored card stock as you can see but you can use your imagination!
2.  Use the Stitched Wide Rectangle Frame and cut out 3 in white card stock,  use an A2 white card base, cut a piece of white card stock 4 x 5 1/4,  cut a piece of wave DP 4 1/4 x 3, cut some strips of brown DP 4 1/4 x 2 and cut into hills
3.  Glue the wave DP to the 4 x 5 1/4 piece of white card stock making sure the frame will be centered over it.  Then add the two layers of brown DP below it again making sure the frame will fit around it
4.  Glue the 3 frames together and then add dimensional to the back of the frame
5.  Pop the frame directly over the top of the water and sand
6.  Cut out two palm trees using the Surf Shack die glue one to the inside of the frame and one to the outside of the frame
7.  Glue in the SUV tucking the wheels into the sand.  Glue the frame panel to the A2 white card base and then add your sentiment layered on green.  Your card is complete!

Tropical Toucan

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

I am bringing you another BRAND NEW RELEASE!  And it is all about the tropics and the wonderful lazy days of summer!! This selection of dies is on sale in the store for a big 25% off.  Check them out HERE!

I love all the bright colors you use with these dies.  Today, I am featuring the Toucan.  I used bright colors and a black background to make them pop.

Background Photo by Bart Zimny on Unsplash

Design Steps:
1.  Using the Toucan die cut out all of the pieces using: black, orange, red, yellow, 2 shades of purple and green card stock.  Shade all of the pieces using TH inks and a small applicator
2.  I cut out a branch using brown card stock and the Garden Bear die.  I also cut out additional leaves using Sloth die and 2 shades of green card stock.  Using the Pierced Circle second from the largest cut out a piece of orange chevron DP.  Use a white A2 card base and a piece of black card stock cut 4 x 5 1/4.  Also use a piece of black polka dot DP cut slightly smaller then the black card stock
3.  Assemble the Toucan with a fine tip glue
4.  Glue the polka dot DP to the solid black card stock.  Then glue down the orange chevron circle to the polka dot DP as shown slightly higher then center
5.  Arrange the branch and leaves and then glue down add the leaves at the top right of the circle.  And last glue down the toucan

6.  I added ribbon to the card and this is a trick I use to get the ribbon to lay flat and tight around the card.  I cut a piece of ribbon about 8 to 10 inches and tie my square knot.  Then I hold it up by the square knot and cut the ribbon in half directly below the knot.  I then tape it to the back of the card as shown.  Your card is complete
