By the Sea

 Hello Friends

As summer approaches I really enjoy making cards for the season.  Although it is pretty hot in Arizona the humidity is low.  The card I made for today reminds me of the time we lived in South Carolina close to Hilton Head Island.  It was beautiful but the humidity in the summer was killer!!  I thought this would make a great Father's Day, retirement or birthday card for anyone who loves the ocean.  I am featuring the Lighthouse and Happy Dolphin dies today.

Designer Steps:

1.  White A2 card base, 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 white wood DP, 5 1/4 x 4 blue wood DP, Circle cut with the largest Circle die set .  Ink all the edges with TH Vintage Photo ink except the circle
2.  Glue the white wood DP to the card base and then glue the blue wood DP onto the white wood as shown above

3.  Using the largest Pierced Wide Circle Frame die cut out 3 in dark gray then glue together.  Use VersaMark ink in random areas then sprinkle with a cooper embossing powder
4.  Heat set the embossing powder.  Use a small hole punch or piercing tool and punch 8 small holes. Add small pewter brads as shown above
5.  Use the following dies Lighthouse, Happy Dolphin, Scallop Shell, and Aloha & Ukulele: Cut the following colors of card stock dark gray (dolphin), red, wood DP, sand DP (lighthouse), rust and cream (starfish not pictured), light blue (Scalloped Shell not pictured)
6.  Glue the sand to the bottom of the circle and then glue to the port hole.  Add the lighthouse as shown
7.  Before gluing to the card base place a small piece of cheese cloth toward the top of the card.  (I dyed the cheese cloth with TH Vintage ink). Add the dolphins, the shell and starfish.  Stamp your sentiment and your card is complete

Aloha Summer

 Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

We have a new release that are complete must haves for your basic die collection.  It is a Slimline group with 9 different designs.  They are 25% off right now so don't miss out on this great addition to your essential must have dies

Our design team will be doing a few weeks of Throwback Tuesdays!  We will be highlighting some of our favorite dies that are still available in the online store.  I am using a die from our Beach & Tropical release.  The dies are called Hibiscus Flowers and Aloha & Ukulele.  I mixed these two dies with our  Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Slimline.

Just a quick description, I used a white slimline card base. Cut a piece of kraft card stock with the largest Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Slimline twice.  Glue one to the front of the card and save the other.  Then I used a variety of colors and cut out the hibiscus using the Hibiscus Flowers die
Next I cut out 3 Aloha in white using the Aloha & Ukulele die.  I glued the Aloha words together.  I arranged the flowers and glued them down also tucking in the leaves.  The final step was to glue down the Aloha and add a few sequins
I had an extra flower and some leaves so I glued the kraft scalloped retangle to the inside and added the flower to the lower left of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and the card is complete
