Bright Birthday Fun!

 Hello Friends

I have some great nephews and a great niece so I am putting together some cards for children.  I know kids love bright happy colors so I went with that as my theme.  I am using the following dies: Mouse with Cake, Birthday Hedgehog and Sentiment, Happy Birthday.

Design steps: 

1.  Cut a white slimline card base measuring 3 1/2 x 8 1/5 when folded. Cut a piece of DP 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 and using the 3rd from the largest Stitched Scallop Square cut out 3 white squares

2.  Glue the DP to the white card base and set aside

3.  Using the Mouse with Cake die cut out the following colors of card stock: yellow, orange, gray, pink and black.  Assemble with a fine tip glue and then glue to one of the scalloped white squares

4.  Using the Birthday Hedgehog die cut out the following colors of card stock: blue, tan, brown, orange, yellow, black and green.  Glue pieces together and then glue to a scalloped white square

5.  Using the Sentiment, Happy Birthday die cut out the happy in green and the birthday in orange.  Glue to the remaining white scalloped square

6.  Glue the mouse square to the top of the card base as shown.  Add the Happy Birthday square and then the Hedgehog square as shown below.  Your card is complete

Encouraging a Friend

The card I am sharing with you today is one of encouragement.  A friend recently had heart surgery and has a long recovery ahead of her.  She loves animals especially dogs so I incorporated a dog.  Also the ribbon for heart awareness is red.  So I included a red ribbon. The dies I am using today are Stitch Heart Set, Loyal Pets and Hugs w/Shadow.

Designer Steps:

1.  Use an A2 white card base, cut a piece of light blue card stock 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and a piece of white 4 x 5 1/4.  Using the second from the largest Stitched Heart cut out a heart in the upper right corner as shown. After the heart is cut run it through a dotted embossing folder

2.  On the blue card stock create some clouds using a stencil and some blue ink

3.  Glue the heart white piece to the blue stenciled cloud piece.  Add a red ribbon and then glue to the white card base

4.  Using the Loyal Pets die cut out the dog and cat in black and the collar and bow in red.  Glue the pieces

5.  Add some dimension tape to the back of the dog and cat.  Pop them onto the front of the card as shown below

6.  Using the Hugs w/Shadow die and cut out the shadow in red and the word in black.  Glue together and add to card as shown.  Your card is complete
