Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends!

Today I am using the Tomte.  He has many different looks and little tools you can use with him.  I think is is just adorable!

Design Steps:

1.  Cut all of the pieces using the Flower Power Tomte die.  I used yellow, green, blue and white card stock

2.  Using a variety of inks shade the pieces and then assemble using a fine tip glue

3.  Use an A2 white card base cut a piece of green 4 x 5 1/4 and DP 3 3/4 x 5.  Use the 4th from the largest Pierced Oval die to cut out a white oval.  Use the 2nd from the largest Stitched Scallop Oval die to cut out a green oval

4.  With the pieced oval die in place shade in the opening with a light blue.  Also stamp your sentiment on yellow and layer onto green

5.  Glue the DP to the green card stock then add the ribbon tying a knot in the center.  I use a glue dot to keep the knot in place

6.  Glue the ribbon panel to the front of the A2 white card base.  Add the green oval and then the shaded blue oval

7.  Place pop dots to the back of the little Tomte and add him to the oval on the front

8.  For the inside I used the Happy expressions die to cut out a yellow and green happy. Glued them together slightly off center then placed inside card.  Add the Birthday sentiment and the strip of DP to the bottom with the little flowers.  To finish I added some rhinestones to the front and inside

Buzzy Bee!

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

In South Carolina all the Azaleas are beginning to bloom!  The pink, white and red flowers are gorgeous.  Along with the flowers comes the bees.  So with that being said this wonderful time of the year is my inspiration for this cute card.

Design Steps:

1.   Using the Busy Bee die cut out the pieces in white,  yellow, and black card stock

2.  Use a clear Wink of Stella to give the wings some shimmer

 3.  Shade the bee parts and then assemble.  Use tiny rhinestones for the bee's eyes

 4.  Cut out a black oval using the Scalloped Oval second from the largest.  Cut out a DP oval using the Pierced Oval die.  Use an A2 white card stock base, a piece of yellow card stock just slightly smaller then the card front by an 1/8 inch,  next cut a striped black and white piece of DP 4 x 5 1/4

 5.  Using the Spring Blooms die cut out 3 yellow flowers and 2 green leaves. Shade the flowers

6.  Glue the striped black and white DP to the yellow card stock.  Glue the black oval down and then the DP oval. Next add the black ribbon and then mount to the card base

7.    Pop up the bee and the flowers and add the rhinestones

Enjoy Fall! - Scrapping Cottage

Good Morning Scrapping Cottage Friends!

Happy Thursday to you! I hope you all are enjoying the beautiful fall weather and all of the colors that are starting to appear on the trees.  I am continuing to make fall cards not only for Halloween but for Thanksgiving as well.

My card today features the yummy cupcakes from the Autumn Sweets die and the lovely scripts are from the Fall Phrases die.

Design Steps

1.  Cut all of the pieces using the Autumn Sweets die out of white card stock

2.  Use your favorite markers to color all of the pieces

3.  Assemble the pieces with a fine tip glue.  I like to assemble them as soon as I get them colored so I don't misplace any of the small pieces.  Set the cupcakes aside

 4.  Use an A2 white card base.  Fold the front flap in half as shown above.  Cut 2 brown pieces 2 x 5 1/4 and glue to the front.  Then cut a brown piece 5 1/4 x 4 for the inside flap

 5.  Using designer paper cut 2 pieces slightly smaller then the front flap brown cards stock.  Cut one piece slightly smaller then the inside brown card stock

 6.  Using the Stitched Scalloped Oval cut out 2 ovals using lined DP

 7.  Using the Fall Phrases cut out the enjoy and fall out of brown card stock

8.  Glue one of the cup cakes to the oval and attach it to the front flap making sure you only put the glue on one side of the oval.  Also glue down the enjoy to the front flap

9.  On the inside of the card glue down the other cupcake to the lower right side of the card and then add the oval making sure it will be hidden right behind the front flap oval.  Add the word fall and your card is complete
