Mother's Day is Coming - Scrapping Cottage

Good Morning Scrapping Cottage Friends!

Thanks for taking time to stop by today!  We have a brand new release of Llama & Botanical dies available in the online store.  And the dies are currently on sale for a limited time at 25% off the retail price.

The new dies have a couple of super cute Llama images as well as cactus and other succulents.  And don't miss the sweet hummingbird and garden bird too!  This new release is so versatile!  They can be used for all kinds of cards and other projects!

I am using the new Dogwood Branch!
Design Steps:
 1.  Using the Dogwood Branch die cut out all of the pieces in white
 2.  Using the Double Stitched Square die cut out the third largest in white then keep the square die intact with the paper.  Place a cloud stencil over the top and sponge on the blue ink
 3.  Pull the square away from the die and it will give you a nice clean edge
 4.  Use your Copic Markers to color the branch and leaves
 5.  Use your Copics to color all of the flower pieces also
 6.  I used a shaping tool to give the flowers a little bend
 7.  Glue the flower layers together
 8.  Glue the branch to the cloud covered square as shown
 9.  Arrange the flowers as shown
 10.  Use an A2 white card base a slightly smaller piece of DP and then a piece of blue cardstock cut to 3 3/4 x 5.  Run it through an embossing folder for some texture
11.  Use craft foam on the back of the cloudy square then glue to the card front.  Stamp your sentiment and layer onto DP glue to the front of the card.  Add bow and your card is complete!

Perfect Blend

Hello Pink and Main Friends!

In a short period of time I have a ton of Anniversaries coming up.  So I thought I would get a head start making a few cards ahead of time!  The set I picked is called the Perfect Blend.

Design Steps:
  1. Start with a white A2 card base.  Using the largest Rounded Rectangle Stitch die cut out a piece of purple card stock and glue it to the front of the card
  2. Cut out a slightly smaller piece of Pink and Main plaid DP from the My Heart and glue it to the purple card stock
  3. Use the 3rd largest Rounded Rectangle Stitch die and cut a piece of white card stock
  4. On the white card stock mask half of the card and sponge on the pink and then reverse the mask and sponge on the purple.  Glue to the front of the card
  5. Stamp the images from the Perfect Blends set color with copics: RV10, 13, 21 - V15, 17 - BV8 - C0, 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 100
  6. Cut the images out with the coordinating dies and pop to the front of the card

Fresh Flowers - Scrapping Cottage

Good Morning Friends

It has been such beautiful weather here in South Carolina that I have been able to clean out my flower beds.  We had a cold winter and even snow.  So some of the more tropical plants didn't make a come back this spring.  I am going to have to pick some new plants to replace the ones that didn't make it.  So with plants on my mind that was my inspiration for my card this week!
 Design Steps:
1.  Cut out the water can in silver metallic paper using the Spring Watering Can die.  Next cut out all of the flowers and leaves in white using the same die.  I cut out 2 each of the flowers and 3 of the leaf stems.
2.  Color the flowers and leaves using copic makers. Add shading to the watering can using copics
3.  Tape the leaves and flowers to the back of the watering can
4.  Cut the hello using the Hello Spring die.  I cut one in yellow and one in gray.  Glue the gray one in the back of the yellow one slightly off center.  Also cut a frame using the Pierced Wide Rectangle Frames dies the second from the largest in vanilla card stock
5.  Use a vanilla A2 card base, a yellow piece cut to 4 x 5 1/4 and a piece of DP 3 3/4  x 5.  Make sure to add the ribbon before you glue the panel to the front of the card. Add the vanilla frame to the card just slightly to the left of center
6.  Add the watering can onto the frame as shown
7.  Place the hello to the upper right side of the card and it is complete

This card would make a great Mother's day card too!

Friendship - Dare 2B Artzy

Hello Dare 2B Artzy Crafting Buddies!

I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing Easter.  I really enjoyed mine.  We went to church and after church we had a pot luck!  One of my very favorite things to do is eat and be able to taste everyone else's yummy dishes!!

Now onto today's card!  I love cards with scalloped edges so that was my inspiration for this fun design.
Design Steps

  2. Using a square scallop die cut out the piece from DP Summertime Petals variety pack for behind the vase.  Pop to the front of the card on the right side
  3. Stamp the vase and using the Refresh the Soul set.  Color the vase using copics: R27, 29, 59 - B32, 41, 45
  4. Stamp the leaves using the Refresh the Soul set in green ink
  5. Stamp the sentiment using navy ink and glue to the left side of the card as shown
  6. Cut out the leaves and vase using the coordinating dies
  7. Pop up the vase and glue the leaves flat
  8. Add tiny pearls to the center of each flower
