Country Jars! - Scrapping Cottage

Good Morning to Our Scrapping Cottage Fans!

Before I get started I wanted to give you a heads up about the sales we are have at our store.  We have a Collection of new release dies called Rise and Shine that are currently 25% off and they are just so much fun!  To see some card samples from the design team click here,  here and here!

Now onto the card for today! I had a stash of country looking paper so I used that as my inspiration for today's card!  Plus I have a friend from church who makes delicious jams and butters.  I was lucky enought to get one of each.  So I thought this would make a cute thank you card.

 1.  Using the Stitched Jar and Stitched Fruit die cut out the different elements.  I cut the jars out of vellum and silver paper for the lids.  The fruit is cut out of different colors of card stock
 2.  Use copics to give the jars a little shading
 3.  Glue the labels and lids to the jars
 4.  Using the labels as a base glue down the different fruits inside the jars on the back of the jars
 5.  Use a vanilla A2 card base and cut a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 piece of yellow card stock and a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of DP from the Studio Calico South of Market Collection.  Also cut a 5 x 1 1/2 strip of DP newsprint.
 6.  Glue all the pieces together and pop dot the jars to the card front
 7.  Cut out 3 Thanks and glue together and then add glossy accent to the top of Thanks
8.  Cut out a small rectangle using the Double Stitched Rectangle die.  Glue to the front and then glue down the word Thanks

Here is my card for the hop!
I decided to make a gate fold card for our hop!  To make this card I needed to use my Misti to make the mirror image of the little dragon!  And it worked perfectly!!!
Designer Steps:
 1.  I used a red rubber plain stamp to create the base for the ink.  And I have a link to a video that will help you with this method!
2.  I inked the stamp up several time to press the black ink onto the red rubber
3.  After I got enough ink onto the red rubber base I pressed the white card stock onto the image

4.  Next I flipped the paper and stamped the image again to get the opposite facing dragon

 5.  I used the scallop Pink and Main die to cut out the opening on the front of the gate fold after I had glued down the DP from the Celebrate paper pad

 6.  I stamped the images using the Fired Up stamp set and colored with copics: Y13, 19 - RV10, 13, 21 - V12, 15, 17.  I cut out the images with the coordinating dies.

 7.  Stamp the sentiment using the Fired Up stamp set and cut apart then layer onto purple card stock

Happy Easter - Scrapping Cottage

Hello Scrapping Cottage Buddies!

Before I get started I wanted to give you a heads up about the sales we are have at our store.  We have a Collection of new release dies called Rise and Shine that are currently 25% off and they are just so much fun!  To see some card samples from the design team click here and here!

Now on with today's card!  I am on my last Easter card for my friends and family in fact most of the cards are just about to go in the mail at the end of the week.  This is my last one and I just love how this little guy turned out in his overalls with the little buttons!

Designer Steps:
 1.  Start with an A2 white card base and cut a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of blue card stock.  Run the blue card stock through a cloud embossing folder
 2. Cut out the greeting using the Happy Easter Phrase die and white card stock.  Glue the phrase to the upper part of the blue embossed panel
 3. Cut out the white fence using the Victorian Fence die.  Then glue it just below the greeting
 4.  Next cut out a strip of green card stock 4 x 1 1/4 and 3 grass strips using the Spring Grass die
 5.  Layer the grass onto the bottom part of the card as shown
 6.  Using gray card stock and the Mr. Peter Rabbit die cut out the body.  Next use the same die and cut out the overalls in a denim DP.  Also using the same die and cut out the Easter eggs using yellow, orange, and pink card stock
7.  Shade the bunny with a gray ink then glue on the overalls add the black pearl eye and tiny buttons.  Glue the eggs into the grass and one in the bunny's hand and your card is complete.

Spring Blessings - Dare 2B Artzy

Good Morning Artzy Friends!

Everything here in South Carolina is in bloom especially the Azaleas. Most of the flowers are bright pink which is so cheerful after a long cold winter! So with flowers on my mind I designed this card for today using the new Blossoms stamp set.

Designer Steps:
  1. Use an A2 white card base cut the navy check DP from the Summertime Petals paper collection 4 x 5 1/4 and glue to the front of the white
  2. Cut a piece of yellow printed DP from the Honey Bloom paper collection 3 3/4 x 5 and glue to the navy DP
  3. Stamp the flowers using the Blooms stamp set.  I used a masking technique and then a scallop die to cut out
  4. Color the flowers with copic markers: YG61, 63 - YR14, 18 - Y11, 17
  5. Pop the scallop the the front of the card and add the navy bow
  6. Stamp the sentiment from the April Showers stamp set and layer onto navy checked DP
