Jaws!

Hello My Scrapping Cottage Friends

When I lived in South Carolina near the beach there were multiple shark sightings!  Needless to say when that happened the beaches cleared out very quickly!  The card I am sharing today reminds me of those days on the beaches in Hilton Head.  As a matter of fact this is going to one of my friends on the East Coast.

And don't forget to check out this release of dies in the online store.  This selection of dies features Pirates and Sea Creatures! There are 14 awesome designs in the collection and you are going to want each and everyone of them.   And there is more!! There is another brand new set of dies out called Beach and Tropical Release.  Be watching for our team to create some card designs with this awesome collection.

Background Photo by

 1.  Cut a piece of white card stock 4 1/8 x 4 1/8 then using the largest Pierced Square die cut a square out of the middle of the 4 1/8 x 4 1/8 piece.  This will create a white frame.  Use a white A2 piece of card stock as the card base.  Cut out a 4 x 4 piece of ocean DP and a 1 x 4 piece of brown card stock cut with a slight hill for the ocean floor
2.  Using the Shark die cut out grey and white card stock.  Use the Mermaid die to cut out the seaweed in two shades of green.  Last use the Paddle and Rope Ladder die to cut out the rope and starfish
3.  Glue the Ocean DP flat to the center of the card front and add the ocean floor.  Place dimension tape to the back of the white frame and attach it around the ocean
4.  Shade all of the die cut pieces and using a fine tip glue applicator assemble the pieces
5.  Glue down the seaweed and add the rope.  Next finish by added additional seaweed, starfish and the shark
6.  I also used some additional tiny fish from the Paddle and Rope Ladder cut.  I cut them in navy and added them above the shark.  Stamp your sentiment and layer onto green and your card is complete

Design Steps:
 1.  Use a white A2 card base with the front flap cut in half.  Cut a piece of purple DP 4 x 5 1/4 and 2 x 5 1/4.  Using your second to the largest Pierced Circle die cut 2 pieces of white card stock and a piece of blue DP

2.  Glue the purple DP to the inside of the card and the front flap.  Glue the blue DP circle to a white circle and set aside

 3.  Using the Sea Turtle die cut out the pieces of the turtle in 3 shades of green.  Using the Tropical Fish die cut out different shades of seaweed and the sand in brown
 4.  Using TH inks shade the pieces with a small applicator and then assemble.  Add a small white dot on the eye with a gel pen
5.  Arrange the die pieces onto the blue circle and glue down

Tropical Fishy!

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends!

We have a brand new release of dies in the online store.  This selection of dies features Pirates and Sea Creatures! There are 14 awesome designs in the collection and you are going to want each and everyone of them!!

Now onto todays card.  It has been really hot in Arizona. So the water in this picture makes me want to jump into our pool!!  I have been making a ton of hello cards lately because so many of my friends are still unable to travel.  I sure miss seeing them!  I am praying that this virus will soon just go away!

I am highlighting the new Tropical Fish die.  I love using bright colors and the tropical fish are perfect for these vivid colors.

Design Steps:
1.  Use and A2 white card base, a piece of white card stock 4 x 5 1/4, white frame cut with the largest of the Stitched Wide Rectangle Frame dies, a piece of green card stock cut first with the largest of the Scalloped Rectangle dies and then the center cut out with the largest of the Pierced Rectangle dies.  This will give you a piece of green scalloped trim
2.  On the piece of white card stock use 3 different TH blues inks to create the ocean.  Next spray with water to create the bubbles.  Use a piece of 2 1/2 x 4 inch brown card stock torn in half to create the sand.  I glued one piece to the blue inked card stock and the other to the back of the frame. Glue the green trim to the front of the frame

3.  Glue the blue inked piece directly to the card base.  Place dimension tape on the back of the frame and then adhere on top of the blue inked piece
4.  Using the Tropical Fish die cut out all of the pieces.  I used blue, teal, purple, light green, dark green, white, light purple, dark pink, orange, dark orange and yellow
5.  Shade the pieces using a variety of inks and then assemble
6.  Arrange onto card base and glue down some of the pieces and use pop dots on others.  All of the fish have pop dots behind them.  Stamp the sentiment and add glossy accents to the pearl.  Your card is complete!

Pirate Monkey!

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends,

I am so glad you have stopped by.  This new release called Pirates and Sea Creatures is so much fun.  The cards I am making are so whimsical and just plain fun to create! Today,  I am highlighting the Pirate Monkey and Treasure Chest Island.  The monkey and island are just so detailed and amazing!

Just some quick info about the card.  I used an A2 blue card base.  Cut a circle using the Pierced Circle Set in a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of white card stock.  Place a piece of white card stock behind the circle and brush in 3 different blue inks to create the ocean.  Next I shaded and assembled all of the pieces and then arranged and glued them to the card.

Lighthouse

Hello My Scrapping Cottage Friends!

Today,  I have a beautiful lighthouse scene to share!  This lighthouse looks exactly like the one on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina.  If you watch the Heritage Golf Tournament you will get a glimpse of it!

Background Photo by Philipp Deus on Unsplash
Designer Steps:
 1.  Use the Lighthouse die and cut out your pieces: Rust, red, white, brown, and teal blue card stock
2.  Shade your pieces using a variety of Tim Holtz inks and a small applicator.  Next assemble the pieces using a fine tip, fast drying glue

 3.  For the base use a piece of white A2 card stock.  Cut out a white frame using the largest Stitched Wide Rectangle Frame die.  Next use the largest Pierced Rectangle die and cut on white card stock.  Place the third from the largest Pierced Oval die in the center of the pierced rectangle piece cut out the oval. Using the same oval die cut out a piece of cloud DP

4.  Glue the white frame directly to the A2 white card front making sure to center it.  Next put dimensional tape on the back of the white pierced retangle piece with the oval cut out.  And tape it to the middle of the frame as shown.  Put glue on the back of the DP cloud piece and push it down into the middle of the oval
5.  Glue down the hill behind the oval frame and slide in the lighthouse behind the hill.  Pop up the little house and then glue down the water.  Next on black card stock cut out two Happys using the Expressions Happy die.  Glue together and then glue on card as shown.  Stamp birthday and layer on red then glue to card as shown
